This course is designed as induction training for a range of food manufacturing staff, including:
- New employees with minimal or no prior food safety knowledge
- Employees handling low-risk or wrapped foods (category A)

The course is divided into the following modules, each with a required pass mark:
- Food Safety Legislation — Covers the key legislation governing food safety and how it applies to the manufacturing workplace.
- Hazards from Delivery to Service — Explains hazards that can arise at each stage from delivery through to service and how to contain them.
- Risk Control (Prevention of Contamination) — Sets out safety procedures and how they help control contamination risk in the work environment.
- Pests, Premises and People — Looks at the role of premises, people and effective pest control in maintaining food safety.
- Final Assessment — Brings together the knowledge covered across the course to confirm understanding.
